Mapping Death – Mapping Loss

This exploration uses personnel records of the German Wehrmacht from the Second World War to build dynamic geospatial models of military losses linked to specific units and their recruitment bases.

Animations show casualties of a German infantry company 1939 to 1944/45 geo- and timecoded and the distribution of the casualties accross their contexts of origin.
